Aster have released their
July Newsletter containing
a number of exciting developments starting around Sep / Oct
2010 with a very limited run of the Japanese D51 Standard Type loco. This is the non-streamlined dome version of the existing D51 model released in 2006.
Due around Dec 2010 will be a redesigned Alisan
Type B Shay. Gas fired and with many improvements over the
original 1975 model, only 100 units will be produced.
Second quarter 2011 will see the release of an
1888 Krauss tank loco as built for the Japanese Railways.

Then in June 2011 a COAL / ALCOHOL fired model of the
French SNCF 241P will be released. This will be a 4
cylinder compound with interchangeable COAL or
ALCOHOL firing! |

expression of interest / reservation is recommended.

If it goes ahead, the Challenger Project is expected to
be released at the end of 2011. Union Pacific Challenger
4-6-6-4 High Speed fast freight and passenger power in
articulated form. Black and two tone grey delivery as
UP3985. For this model, Aster will be asking for firm
reservations and livery choice before production commitment.
Price estimate - similar to NSWR AD60 i.e. A$15,000 (Subject to variances).
