Since 1992 Argyle Locomotive Works have been specialist builders of live steam locomotives for Gauge 1 (45mm) in the narrow gauge scales of 1:20.3 & 1:19 & 7/8" / ft as well as standard gauge scales of 1:32 & 10mm / ft. In that time over 1,200 steam locomotives have been produced in a mix of production and bespoke locomotives.
Argyle is the sole Australian distributor for Aster Hobbies Limited (Japan) and Sunset Valley Railroad (USA). We also distribute ‘Roundhouse’, ‘Accucraft UK’ and ‘Accucraft USA’. Our expertise is in live steam locomotives and our specialty is in garden gauge railways.

The Aster range comprises ready built and assembly kits for live steam locomotives of famous prototypes from the glorious age of steam. Accucraft UK Ltd was formed in 2004. The company incorporates their former business Marches Models; best known for supplying British narrow gauge live steam locomotives for gauges 'O' and '1'.

Roundhouse have been manufacturers of live steam locomotives for 'G' Scale, SM45 & SM32 since 1982 and are the major supplier of this type of model in the UK. Though they are based in Doncaster, England, birthplace of some of the worlds most famous main line steam locomotives, their engines are in operation on garden railways round the world, bringing the sights and sounds that only live steam offers, to thousands of satisfied operators.
